Loonyland

'Twas a sunny day as I drove down loony drive
Quickly going past an oddly purple beehive
Almost colliding into a huge orange cow
That was surprised and suddenly shrieked, “meow.”

I finally arrived at the center of crazy town
Where not one person wore an ugly frown
Where ever multi-colored boy and girl
Acted free without a care in the world.

In a blink of an eye, I joined right in
Revealing the psycho I’ve always been
Bouncing off the rubber-coated walls
Exchanging fires with black cannon balls.

My friend and I ran down the bazaar
Where chainsaws and mallets sold for only a dollar
Where I ate my fill because the food was free
And I got myself drunk from the overflowing Pepsi.

With a trumpet blast the festivities begin
And the land dissolved in a manic spin
As I twirled round and round, I could no longer see
If I was myself, I was you or you were me.

Sadly now I must go and return to my realm
Where everything here would seem just a dream
But before I leave, I have but one demand
That tonight I’ll be allowed back to visit loonyland.
