A Silent Witness

I walk the streets in silent witness to myself
Alone with all my frenzied thoughts.
Little high-pitched voices talking in unison
Each trying to be heard over the uproar.

I traveled to where my feet led me
Following an unexplored escape plan.
My mind overflowed but nothing made sense
Comprehension has long given up.

Prolonged hours past I walk towards home
Only to lie under the covers, awake all night.
Seeking answers that never were to be found,
I walk the streets in silent witness to myself.
